Community Childcare Centre |
| |
Our busy Childcare centre provides quality preschool care for a number of local children. Currently we have 40 kids attending. The Centre also provides places for respite care. This service was developed when a young mother with children fell asleep in one of our GP consulting rooms. Staff looking after the youngsters while mum slept realised that there needed to be a facility where parents suffering stress and fatigue could leave their children. |

Outreach Immunisation Service |
| |
A dedicated nurse assists the clinical team and the Tamariki Ora team to follow up parents and children who have fallen behind on thier immunisation schedule. This service has proved very effective with an immunisation rate of well above 80%; fantastic, considering the high needs population we serve are generally difficult to immunise. |

Community Support Worker in Schools |
| |
We provide a Community Support Worker (CSW) to work in local schools. Children are often negatively affected by issues in the school or whanau environemnt. It is the job of the CSW to advocate for the child and facilitate the solving of these problems. An initiative of Te Puna PHO, the programme has proved effective and there are plans to expand the service in the future. |
